Hi I haven’t necessarily prayed the Rosary consistently over the last few years, but I must say — as a former Protestant (and critical of all things Catholic), when I started to pray the Rosary, it was difficult. My mind was almost always in a continual state of criticism. But as I moved past that, and found a love for the Virgin Mary, and the time of prayer became sweet. Not always, but many times when I do pray the Rosary, I have mystical experiences. I say mystical mostly because it’s a mystery to me, as to what is actually happening.

When I’m very focused, and I pray from my heart with clear and smooth dictation, something very powerful happens. It’s not always exactly the same, but it’s often times similar. I feel not only immense energy flowing through me (imagine ‘getting the chills’, and then magnify it times a thousand), I also feel something that is difficult to describe. It almost feels like angels wings, or wings of a dove (I say dove because that is a beautiful bird that is gentle and gracious). Often times I will feel this feeling around the area of my hips. It’s almost as if this wing feeling is actually coming from the inside of me, and not the outside. I will feel it between the two sections of “Hail Mary full of grace…[then the feeling]…”Holy Mary…”

What I perceive is happening is that I’m being joined in this prayer. The feeling almost feels like a nod, like a parent would nod as you read a paragraph correctly.

And then there’s something else. Not only do I sense great grace upon my life when I regularly pray the Rosary, but I have all kinds of other mystical experiences such as lucid dreams, visions, and trances. I don’t mind these things because I’m not afraid. I know God’s people and servants throughout the history of mankind have experienced such things.

Please share any of your experiences or thoughts on these things!

Thank you and God bless

Nice! Nothing happens to me when I pray the Rosary. But then, I really don’t pray it well. I tend to rush through it. Your story is inspiring. Keep it up! 😀
