So I have posted about this before, but my mother is a possible convert candidate…and She often asks me about different theological issues, and I do my best, but I need something to easily and tactfully tell her the answers. I know Catholic Answers is a great resource, but do you guys and gals know of a website specifically for this? Thanks in advance!

I know you asked for websites, but I thought I’d throw this out for you. You can also get her the book Catholicism for Dummies, there’s also Catholic Mass for Dummies. Both are easy to read and would be a good starting point for her. Then she can ask questions. I know, I hate the names as well. The are so many “for Dummies” books out there than maybe she wouldn’t be turned off by the title.

I am so glad you said this, i HAVE Catholicism for dummies. i bought it before i converted!! totally forgot!

It’s also important to know what background she’s coming from. If agnostic/atheistic, or from a Protestant/Evangelical, etc. Different backgrounds will produce different sorts of questions.

For instance, an atheist would need much more discussing the existence of God or the teachings on the Trinity, specifically Jesus’s role as Son and Savior.

Someone coming from a Protestant background wouldn’t need any of that, but would rather need a lot of resources in church history and sacramental theology.

For evangelicals, here’s a useful site that sort of “speaks their language”:

catholicbridge.com/index.php

I almost didn’t hit submit reply b/c I saw that you were asking for websites. “Something” told me to anyway.

Happy I could help.
