Hi, I am wondering why these days I feel so happy to be in church that I cannot help but smile to myself sometimes during Mass??? Am I going mental or is it the joy of the Lord filling me up?

It could be either, in my own honest opinion. Why question it, though? If going to church fills you to the bursting with joy, just embrace it as a gift from God!

You’re not going mental definitely. If you feel joy especially in the church, believe that God has given you joy. Drink into it and praise God for His joy.

God bless.

To take part in the gifts the Lord has given us and express our faith in Him is a great thing. And so, I would see happiness felt from doing so to be, at least, a reflection of your recognizing that. God bless!

It’s an unnatural manuever for an Old Colonel. Hoorah! 😑

Take it as a gift from God! :hugs::hugs::hugs:
And … say gratitude prayers?

Don’t be jealous, my friend! Just thank God for something in your life in church, think of what good things God has done in your life, and savour the lyrics of the hymns and the words of the prayers! You’ll experience bliss in no later time!

Sounds good. I tend to look on the dark side too easily. Thanks for that

yes, we do fall on the dark side easily.
I can advice you to just gaze at Our Lord’s outstretched arms on the cross, and contemplate His suffering and love so as to redeem eternal life for all of us.
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” (John 15:13)
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
Just fill yourself with God’s love, and you’ll be filled with His grace and joy!

You might be experiencing the gift of joy. Does manifest outside of Mass?
