Taken from: “Fátima, it’s proofs and it’s problems” Lisabon 1953. Written by padre Sebastião Martins do Reis, professor at Coimbra University (est.1290, 16º oldest university in the world).

Page 180, and I quote:

"We shall enumerate of various facts verified in the presence of the children, related to them, - facts proven by eye witnesses, prescinding of what the seers said:

1- Lightnings, that preceded the apparitions. Thunder, at the precise moment of the apparition, or at its term, with apparent origin in the “holly oak” [Quercus ilex].

2- Curvature of the bush, as if covered by a mantel, with the leaves pending in the same direction (second apparition).

3- Perfume, of new and unknown essence, volatiling from the branch of the “holm oak” cut at “Valinhos”, and felt by misses Maria Rosa and the people around, after the fourth apparition.

4- Cloudy shinning globe, moving from East to West, and gliding majestically through space, until touching the “holm oak” (fifth apparition).

5- Cloud candid and variegated, and of pleasant sight, that several times formed around the seers, with evaporation of rising smoke, to five or six meters of height. And, this, three quite distinct times, in the same apparition.

6- Evanescent rain of roses, with small white roses, larger when seen afar, and that, little by little, become smaller, with the falling to ground, until they vanish.

7- Diminishing of solar light, in high noon, without clouds or eclipses. The moon and the stars were visible. This phenomenon was verified in all apparitions, with exception of the last. As to the first apparition, it is not known.

8- Miracle of the Sun, that, according to witnesses consists of three phases: a) The Sun becomes opaque, with reflections of mother-of-pearl; you can stare without difficulty, having absolute absence of clouds or eclipse; b) Irradiation of colors, with rotation of iridescent beams, which diffuse across all the sky, similar to fire works; c) Motion of the solar disc, as if enlarging, at first, and giving the feeling of hastening to earth; next, translational movement of the disc over the firmament, at glance, both in a straight and broken line.

Summary of the rationalization and scientific analyses

1- 13 June and 13 August (the children had been arrested and were not present at the second date), between 15 and 20 thousand eyewitnesses (both visual and auditory), it can be explained by natural causes, but not the coincidence of dates or preciseness of the time.

2- Witnesses attest the fact, the leaves are rigid and were all together out of their natural position, a simple phenomenon hence its significance.

4- 13 of September, fifth apparition, over 20 thousand witnesses. The sun, at noon, was between 54º 19’ in height (…) 2 days to the new moon, it was between at 51º 4’, the distance to the sun was only 32º. The globe was extraordinarily shiny - this fact is in contradiction with all laws of luminous energy (Geissler tubs in low pressure, according to Töeplef)…One circumstance is however unexplainable, how did some witnesses see the globe vanish suddenly while others kept seeing it. The diameter of the globe being approximately 2 meters already close to the earth cannot be explained, and also the exact point of arrival over the “holm oak”.

Adding to that day, a rain of white roses.

5- 13 of September, this phenomenon repeated on the pilgrimage of 13 of May 1918 and 1924. A photograph was taken, and serves as evidence the phenomenon was phisical - the falling objects projected shadows. Snow is produced at 0ºC, the temperature in Portugal during May is around 25ºC. Some folks tried to catch the petals with their hats, to no avail…

7- Between May and October 1917, we can guarantee there were no eclipses. To understand you must visit and know Fátima. [12 pages follow of Meteorology and the scientific explanation as to how science lacks any explanation for the phenomenon.] Enough to say: temperature, atmospheric dust, humidity, radiation, the troposphere, the moon, the stars, the planets, and the sun are all taken into account…“The phenomenon, of the diminishing of the solar light, not being the most grandiose, nevertheless is the one science explains the best, and therefore the most prodigious, in contradiction with the natural laws.”

8- 13 of October 1917, 70 thousand eyewitnesses…

The phenomenons were studied by padre Pio Scatizzi, born in Rome 1878.

You probably know him, he holds the patents for helicopter tail-rotors. Patentes dated 1926-1938.

He was the lecturer ,for 20 years, of “Calculus and Astronomy” course at the Pontifical Gregorian University, and member of the “Italian Astronomy Society”. In 1947 he published “Fatima, all’analisi della fede e della scienza” a detailed scientific analyses of the meteorological and astronomical phenomenons described at Fátima…

Did anyone, elsewhere in the world, viewing the very same sun, see the sun dancing around in the sky? Did any astronomical observatory detect the sun dancing around in the sky and deviating from its normal position in relation to planet earth or any other planet?
 
As far as I know, the phenomenon was seen up to 30 miles away, and was seen from boats in the ocean near the coast. It was not noticed by any observatories.

If the sun was moving erratically, dancing in the sky, would that not be noticed in astronomical observatories or by people in other parts of the world, such as in Iran, China, India or Saudi Arabia?

Did it ever occur to you that what they saw was not literally the actual blazing star that sits 93 million miles away from Earth?
 
The Sun did move “the star”, “as an object”.

But asides the “miracle” the “prophecy” is added, and the prophecy sort of “steals the show” but lets look in detail at the sun:

Remember those “old sun gods”??? Well, the true God, our “Living God” made the sun and the laws governing…So the true miracle, is that “the sun is not absolute”. Our Lord can “move the sun” when He wishes and how He pleases.

In this case, “the sun did move” the way Our Lord wished, when and where and how He wished. For He is not limited in anyway by the physical laws, and even that was proven. Hence a “true miracle” going against all physical laws of the universe (like when we see the dead rising, or impossible healing, creating matter out of nothing).

The the sun did move, exactly when and where how Our Lord pleased and no where else for Our Lord is not limited by the sun.
 
If you see an oasis in the desert, does that mean there is water at the end of the horizon?

There is plenty of space between the Earth and the sun for optical illusions to occur. The sun doesn’t need to be snapping around the galaxy to make it any less of a miracle, one that was no less predicted to happen on the exact date and time. Read between the lines.

‘Miracles’ with possible physical explanations are not miracles. A miracle, if God wanted to perform one, would be incontrovertible, with no possible mundane explanation. Otherwise why do a miracle? I’m waiting for a human limb to grow back, an incinerated body to be preserved intact, someone to have the ability to fly repeatedly and on request, walking on water, changing water to wine in volume and instantly…
