I’m deeply concerned about something happening at our Faith Formation camp for kids/pre-teens. Several of the counselors at our camp are not Catholic, but are merely friends/neighbors of the Faith Formation Director. They aren’t just assistants counselors, they are in charge of cabins entirely by themselves. I guess I just don’t see how they could possibly add to a kid’s understanding/deepening of the Catholic faith. Even if they are good, moral people, they aren’t Catholic - some of them are leaders/have positions at their own Protestant churches. This really bothers me - especially in light of the $85 per camper fee people pay for their kids to attend. I’d appreciate some insight from the rest of you. Thanks.
