I really want to have faith and hope. Most days I am cynical. How can I be realistic with my hope? Following Christ til the very end seems almost unreal. The saint feel intangible. God’s Love cannot be measured. It is difficult to imagine we will all be held accountable for every little sin. As adults it seems like some things and especially people cannot and will not change. Are we ever supposed to feel comfortable with ourselves? Life is about adapting to change.
Ask God to help.
Salvation is impossible. God says that in the Gospel and His Church infallibly teaches it. It is only possible with His grace.
There are some people who think we are saved by His grace without our cooperating. That is false
There are others who think are saved by our own doing apart from His grace. Also false
We are saved by cooperating with divine grace.
Your hope should be in who God is. God is Love. He wills your Salvation.
We won’t be held accountable for every sin. We can receive Absolution (which is when God washes us clean in His Blood), and we can gain indulgences afterwards to remit temporal punishment.
Revelation 22:14
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end." 14Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city. 15Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying.…
“wash their robes” means our Baptismal Robes. We wash them in Holy Confession.
Go to Holy Confession weekly, receive the Holy Eucharist as often as possible for your strength and to be closer to God (because He loves you infinitely), and stay in a state of grace. Pray the Rosary often, if not daily, and I also recommend the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
Ask our Mother to help you. She loves you.
Hope in Christ. He is Love. Trust Him. Trust in His infinite mercy. His mercy has no end.
