Faith must grow

In the Catechism of the Catholic Church in the section entitled The Celebration of the Christian Mystery, under Faith and Baptism 1254 states: “For all the baptized, children or adults, faith must grow after Baptism.” How does faith grow after Baptism?

The same any anything else will grow if it is nurtured and fed.

So how does one nurture and feed faith - you ask???

Through the practice of the virtues Love, humility, moderation, etc.
Through prayer. There are many kinds of prayer but prayer is very important.
Through participation in the sacraments of the Eucharist and confession.

These are all things that help faith to grow.

Faith grows through prayer, trust, following the teachings of the Church, making daily sacrifices according to those teachings, helping others, study of the bible, reading about the Saints and other spiritual materials.

It is a daily, life long event.

Faith is essentially the same thing as Trust. So knowing that we can always trust more in Jesus to see more of Gods truths, and can experience more of Gods of the gifts of the Holy spirit and also exhibiting more of fruits of the spirit because of our growing Trust in God and our love and obedience to Him. It’s in following in the way of Jesus by trusting in Him which will ultimately bring us to Gods heavenly home for Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life and all that happens once we become a Child of God through Baptism. If we never nurture our faith by growing in trust, we can stifle our relationship with God and it can even wither away.
