When I first began praying with ‘faith’ I was told by charismatic preachers that the kind of faith we should have while praying is that ‘God can do what I’m praying for’ and ‘God will do it for me
"When you pray and ask for something in prayer believe you have received it and whatever you ask for in prayer will be given to you."
So I began praying that way…God can and God will do what I am praying for. But mostly, despite all the faith I tried to put in…many things did not happen.🤨
Later, I realized that this kind of prayer does not have the element of ‘surrender’ and so the kind of faith we should have is that God can do what I’m praying for but He will do it if He wills(surrender) and I’ll accept whatever His will turns out to be.😔
What kind of faith do you have?🤔 Like the charismatics…God can and God will so claim it🤩, or God can and God will, if He wills-I’ll accept whatever He decides for me.😔

I think we should have the prayer of surrender, if you prayed for it with the first type, and it didn’t get answered, then God’s Will was still done. And that is not something you should get upset about when things don’t turn out as you wanted them to, since God knows what is best and what will take you and others to Heaven. No matter what your prayer is. But always beg for mercy.

Sister, thank you for your vocation of service.

Jesus teaches us to ask God for what we need, but also to acknowledge that His way is not always our way.

As persons grow in their interior life they become more readily available to understand this important principle: “Prayer doesn’t change God, it changes us.”

Blessed are those who pray constantly, turning their very lives into sacrifices to our Eternal King,
Deacon Christopher

I pray earnestly for …as though He will grant that if He wills it so. The tacit understanding is that it may not be granted and I accept that, after all I have no choice. I do believe however that if He wills it so it will happen, somehow and perhaps or even often in a way I would not have expected.

I always bear in mind that God knows all, I mean everything, and I know little, I mean next to nothing. I accept what He gives or denies.

The “Prosperity Gospel/Health and Wealth” drags people away from Christ and into despair, it is not a Catholic teaching at all.

We pray as Christ taught us “if it be your will” and we surrender.

Everything is up to Him. If we pray according to His will, things can happen as a result of that prayer. I know He can do anything-and He wants and loves that kind of faith. But I don’t know if or when He’ll answer.
