My family has not been to Mass for months, and I have no idea how to get back. Most of my anxiety is due to worrying that my kids will be horrible, and I feel Satan is sabotaging my efforts to get back to my faith. I have no idea what to do to get back! The longer we are away the harder it gets. Any suggestions are welcome!

Bring your problem before your pastor, I have no doubt that he will help you, but you must have the courage to make that move. You may get a lot of static from your family. Also you probably will be advised to make a good confession along with members of your family. You need to be reinstated in grace, and perhaps receive further instructions about the faith, along with your children. The Church welcomes her children back into her family, it shouldn’t appear as troublesome as you might see it. God certainly wants you back. You must make the move, pray for strength and follow through. I’ll pray for you and your family. It also appears that you and your family need to encounter Jesus Christ, how can you love Him if you know nothing about Him. Reading the Holy Scriptures to your children can open them up to evangelization, learning the "Good News ’ Jesus is the answer to all of you and your families problems, pray to Him to open doors for you, I am sure He will.

Thank you for your reply, and your prayers. We definitely need them! And I will call my pastor tomorrow. God bless!

First and foremost PRAY. Pray for the protection of God to help resist the attacks of satan and for the grace to continue on the path that leads to Jesus.

Assuming you have taken the Sacraments (Baptism, Confession, First Communion and confirmation), going to confession would be the first place to start. During confession you will receive forgiveness of sins and the grace of God to fight the inclination to not walk away from Him. If you are hesitant about just jumping into confession, seek council of your local parish priest and then request confession afterwards. He will walk you through the process if you forgotten what to say.

If you haven’t been through all the Sacraments, I would suggest talking with your parish priest and look into enrolling in the RCIA program to receive the Sacraments. The Sacraments are more than just motions or outward professions of faith, but rather a means in which to receive the Grace of God to live a holy life.

I think it awesome you are concerned with the Spiritual welfare of you children. In fact that is one of the reasons I came to the catholic faith. So my children could know and experience the fullness of truth revealed by God.

I’ll be praying for you and if you need anything let me know.

Peace and God Bless.

I sure have been doing a lot of praying!!! Somedays it’s all I can do!
I’ll definitely be going to my Pastor this week and letting him know what I’m feeling and what I should do next.
Thank you so much for your prayers!

That’s a good first step!

And you have my support on here on returning to the Faith! 👍

Prayers may be working! At least 3 of us have gone to Mass the last two weeks! Today was rough getting there, but we were definitely blessed by it!
