Last night I fell. I fell for the first time in quite a while and have felt miserably guilty about it. I went to confession this morning and was absolved, but I want to be better. Truly, I want to give myself to Christ and His Church through the holy priesthood. However, I feel like I have thrown that away with my fall. Could anyone offer advice?

Why do you feel as if you’ve thrown away a discerned call to the priesthood because of a sin you’ve been forgiven of? Dear brother God has forgiven you.

✌️❤️

You fell and were forgiven right? Sacramentally right? I think if you still have these doubts then you should engage in active learning about absolution and the sacraments and the vocation and function of a priest. If you feel like your sensual sinning is a disorder then that is something to consider as well.

Man look. I don’t think you’d serve as well as a priest if you’d never been on the other side of the confessional. I mean don’t get mixed up in this. The reason this is such a battle is because it’s not just a fight against animal cravings? I mean it’s not just about a physical battle here.

This is also a lesson in humility. It’s a teaching and it’s a strong one. It’s a handing out proper of the sure knowledge that we’re all weak. We’re all susceptible? But we’ve all got the same great forgiveness waiting for us each time.

So don’t turn over just because you slipped on the ice? I mean do you honestly think you’re off-limits to the devil just because you’ve openly declared war on him? Man no. This is what makes your fight all the harder. I mean it makes your struggle real in a way that others don’t always have to face for sure. But there’s a strong reason for that. The wisdom you gain will be handed out to many many more for your having experienced it first-hand.

So buddy? Just chalk it up to being human after all? And set your sights on your win again. Because if the devil even gets a hint that this is all it takes to keep good men from leaning in priestwards? Oh man you’ll have made his century.

So please don’t worry deep. You’ll be in our prayers and our hearts? And you’ll have all the humility and understanding you need perfect in order to do your future office in the most proper and loving way possible.

Peace Ole. We’re behind you man. Don’t worry about the slips. Focus only on the struggle royal.

Rejoice in the fact that you have been forgiven. Then, move on. As. A catholic, you are told to confess your sins to a priest. The priest gave you God’s forgiveness. Don’t purposely place yourself in near occasions for sin. But, holding on to a sin that has been forgiven can be harmful…it keeps you thinking of the sin, keeps you from moving on. You signed, and were forgiven. So, be glad! And, God Bless!
