False Prophets

Can someone help me find some scriptures on false prophets? Did Jesus say anything about it?
 
Hi Jedda,
There are many references to falso prophets in the Old Testament. Here is one from Jeremiah 23,30ff :
30 Therefore I am against the prophets, says the LORD, who steal my words from each other. 31 Yes, I am against the prophets, says the LORD, who borrow speeches to pronounce oracles. 32 Yes, I am against the prophets who prophesy lying dreams, says the LORD, and who lead my people astray by recounting their lies and by their empty boasting. From me they have no mission or command, and they do this people no good at all, says the LORD

Jesus did not speak of false prophets as such, but he spoke very firmly about what you could have called the false prophets of his day : the priests, Pharisees and Sadducees.

“False prophet” is mentioned in:
Matthew 7:15; 24:11; 24:24;
Mark 13:22;
Luke 6:26;
Acts 13:6;
2 Peter 2:1;
1 John 4:1;
Revelation 16:13.

Aside from maligning the Pharasees via John, it is a mistake to equate Pharisee with prophet. Completely different things.
 
Mat 7:15 Beware of false****prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Mat 24:11 And many false****prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

Mat 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false****prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Mar 13:22 For false Christs and false****prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

Luk 6:26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false****prophets.

Rev 16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false****prophet.

Rev 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false****prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false****prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
