I am writing a paper for sociology. What cultural aspect should America adopt? My thesis is: America should adopt the cultural aspect of the family bed: cosleeping.
What are some objections against family sleeping? What are supportive thoughts on it?
I do think it is primarily cultural and I think that is why people are very heated over this argument. Coming from an Asian/pacific culture, family sleeping is considered normal and good parenting.
Yet I have many friends who think family sleeping is abnormal and crushes the individual.
The other common objective I have found is a superimposed fear of sex. I wonder if due to our completely sex saturated culture, the first thing an American thinks is sexual abuse or sexual overtones?
