Family Easter traditions?

What little traditions did you do for Holy Week and Easter in your family as a child?
When I was young,my brothers and sisters and I would make tiny ‘caves’ somewhere in the yard at home.We would place some little twig crosses nearby
and a small rock to cover the entrance of the ‘cave’ then roll it to the side on Easter Day 🙂
On Good Friday we made sure not to kill anything,avoiding killing insects even,and my father wouldn’t kill an animal on the farm that day.
 
That sounds lovely GF.
As a child I really don’t have much to tell in that regards other than having supper with the grandparents. I wasn’t Catholic then either, and since my father was a hard core atheist I had no idea who Christ was let alone what Easter is about. (when I speak of my father I am normally speaking of my step father just FYI).
That was then, but I know now. 🙏
 
This may sound secular, but it speaks of the rebirth that spring brings.

My grand daughter plants jelly beans in the flower bed, and waters them, and on Easter Morning her father sticks lollypops in the ground where she planted the jelly beans.

I think I heard of kids in the States making crosses out of palms?
When I was in a predominantly Orthadox city in Africa all the little kids were coming back from
church with cleverly woven crosses ,some in the form of a ring for a finger.Palm Sunday.
