I hate the way family is portrayed in the media. There are lots of shows and movies that portray family in a good clean way, but there are even more shows and movies that portray the family as being dysnfunctional, burdensome, and as children being very annoying and troubling (as well as having some kind of disorder?).

These same shows and movies portray masturbation as being something natural, yet embarassing to be caught doing, and contraceptions as being okay to use if you don’t want a disease or pregnancy (this goes hand in hand with two unmarried persons - be they boyfirend/girlfriend or whatever - or two persons married to other people and not to each other having sex).

And the shows and movies also portray homosexuality as being weird or even some kind of contagious disease (like how people used to treat those with AIDs - and no, that’s not a coincidence).

Is it any wonder so many people don’t agree with the Church, let along understand the Church’s teaching? The world is being brainwashed by those who live in sin, and as Scripture teaches us, the father of sin is Satan. I consider it an attack on the Church!

We need Catholic writers and directors to show the family as it should be shown.

Yeah - that’s why we don’t watch TV very much at all. I am worried that we will all start to think that is “normal” or “acceptable” behavoir and the way you are supposed to act, think, behave. I get ridiculed for it to some degree. “You can’t hide forever…” but I don’t see any advantage in watching TV to begin with so…

I really don’t understand why we keep paying for it??? I think it’s mostly for the football games (which need to be moderated as well!).
