good night forum!!
I love being Catholic!

Yes, I just started this program and it is wonderful! Very good for all areas of your life. If there isn’t one started in your parish you can start one yourself; I think you just need to have 2 other people interested. The cost is $117 and you get some audio tapes, a handbook, some prayer books, and a few other goodies. Good luck to you and God bless!

Hi everyone! I just attended the orientation for The Light Weigh last night and am looking forward to starting next week. 🙂 I’ve done the diet thing many, many times since I was young, with varying amounts of success, and the occasional eating disorder. I think the difficulty with any diet is that you spend so much time thinking and talking and planning about food. It’s hard to think of much else!

This program seems like it’s designed to lead you away from the obsession with food towards a more God-designed outlook on eating, while increasing your faith at the same time. That can only be good, I think! The price isn’t bad, compared with the other programs out there.

Check out the website (of the same name, I think). It’s not the most helpful in the world, information-wise, but it’s a start. Someone else who’s been on the program before could contribute more, but basically, I think it teaches you to be more aware of your body’s levels of hunger, and to eat for hunger, and only until you reach a certain level of satiety, rather than eating “just whenever” and until you’re really full. They don’t focus on a particular diet or on your weight. There is no weigh-in 🙂 and it sounds like pounds lost/gained is not the focus of conversation.

The development of the person’s connection to God and the saints, Bible readings, and filling up your spiritual life are the other emphases, plus of course opportunity to work on this with the other participants. It’s for both men and women. I’ll know more soon, but this is what I’ve gleaned thus far.
