Family of Jacopa for women 40+

I was down a rabbit hole on YouTube and stumbled across this video for the Family of Jacopa. They are a newish community in Ohio that is specifically for women 40+. It’s an interesting charism.

My organization supported her and her establishment efforts. Their habit is based on that actually worn by “Brother Jacopa”, who was a close spiritual friend of St. Francis of Assisi. Their charism is geared specifically to widows, a much needed ministry within the church.

I would have linked to their website, but it doesn’t appear to be working. I believe they are also a TLM community, right?

Not sure about the TLM aspect. I know she posted here a few weeks ago, asking what women were looking for where a community was concerned. Then the post was deleted.

I just tried their site, but one particular domain is up for sale. Speculation and gossip is forbidden here, so I must close.

They may not be a TLM community, but from what I have seen online, they do have a bent toward tradition. I think she mentioned using the Latin Breviary, for instance.

They attend both the TLM & the NO Mass. They are starting to study how to use the Latin Breviary. They are not strictly traditional however.

Thank you for the clarification. I think this group’s charism is wonderful. I wish them much success.

@Cloisters it looks like the issue with their website is that they had some unexpected expenses in the winter and a drop off in donations, so they cannot afford the bill at this time. They were asking for donations in April. Perhaps they didn’t come in as they had hoped.
