I’ve often heard repeated in these forums the differences in a child being raised in a single parent home vs a child being raised in a two parent home. Are there any thoughts about other arrangements of child raising? What I’ve got in mind are children raised with their relatives?

More specifically my oldest sister (divorced) has a son. He is being taken care of by my entire immediate family; that’s six of us. The risk I’ve seen on single parent homes don’t seem to be applicable here (economic hardships , excessive emotional stress, poor academic performance, physical abuse, so on…). His needs are taken care of, the environment is low stress, and his only problem in school is that he’s bored from not finding the work challenging.

While I am using my own family as an example I know of other similar arrangements where single parents are having their children raised with effort contributions from their family and/or close friends.

It is important for the development of his sexuality and ability to form relationships that he sees a stable committed couple as a permanent role model who have a very significant or primary influence in his parenting.

It sounds like that may be the case but it not explicit in your description, and could be a false assumption on my part.

When I looked at the title, I read: “Farm Rasied Chicken”… sorry 🙂

In the story I wrote, Empress Theresa,
Theresa has good parents. They are barely mentioned in the book because they are good parents. There is nothing controversial about them or their relationship to Theresa.

Theresa goes on to save the human race from universal starvation.

For the sake of discussion let’s say that it isn’t the case. It sounds like you may be talking about more than gender role identity. What would be the impacts on one’s sexual development without this example?
