Which famous duo are your husband and you most like?

We’re like Abbot and Castello, The Smother’s Brothers, Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, maybe even Don Quijote and Sancho Panza. My husband is silly and joking most of the time, and I’m pretty serious. I guess that makes us a balanced couple.

I’d love to say that we are like Sherlock Holmes and Watson, but we are both like Sherlock! With my wild violin playing, his silent observation, and both of us analyzing everything to oblivion…

Maybe someone else knows a famous duo that we fit better.

Burns and Allen – does this need an explanation or better still Archie and Edith Bunker;)

Nick and Nora Charles . . . (we WISH!).

Actually, more like Frick and Frack.

I will ask my husband what he thinks but my first thought is Ricky and Lucy, although I am not as spastic as Lucy…

Bonnie and Clyde…but seriously, more like Jacques and Raisa Maritain.

Jack Sprat & wife:

“Jack Sprat could eat no fat
His wife could eat no lean
And so between the both of them
They lick the platter clean”

…tho I really can’t say that I lick the platters at home - he’s got a bigger stomach (inside) than I do, but is thin as a rail… :o

Ray and Debra from Everybody Loves Raymond. We are so similar to them it’s not even funny.

Siena:
Mortisha and Gomez Addams.

Not kidding.
My heroes!!!

Our kids took a vote and decided we would rather be the Addams Family than The Brady Bunch.

But my daughter says we are like Ray and Debra from Everybody Loves Raymond. DH watches sports and I do everything including disciplining the kids and dealing with in-laws.

Oh yea- we are the Addams Family inside. Living the quiet suburban life…

Raymond is cool- just not our speed. Now exploding trains, that’s another story…😃

Oh No! I forgot about Ray and Debra! We have watched that show and talked about how it is like our lives in some ways! HaHaHa!

My DH thinks we’re like Emma and Mr. Knightly (from Jane Austen’s Emma with Gwenyth Paltrow) but I think that’s just b/c Knightly is so clearly the more mature one.

I would say that we are at least a little bit close to Lucy and Ricky - without the gross exagerations.

I also think that we are a little like Jane and Mark from C.S. Lewis’ That Hideous Strength - with out my DH being evil and without me being saintly.

Those are some big qualifications, LOL!

All joking aside, I had thought myself somewhat informed about culture, and I don;t recognize the vast majority of these references!

I couldn’t come up with a suitable one, but the second I mentioned this thread to my wife, she said, “Rosanne and Dan.”

And she’s absolutely right.

“Say goodnight, Gracie.”

“Goodnight, Gracie.”

But Ned and Maude Flanders is probably closer to the mark.

Rosanne - as in ‘domestic goddess’? :rotfl:
