Fast and Abstinence on Good Friday

On Good Friday I had the intention and did fast but in so doing forgot about the abstinece from meat.I eat a turkey sandwich I remembered this during Good Friday services and did not receive communion.Should I not receive this morning because of this?I plan to go to confession this Saturday. thanks for your advice.

Forgeting to abstain is not a mortal sin. It was not premeditated and there is nothing you could have done to prevent it.

Tell God, you’re sorrry you forgot and going to Communion should not be a problem.
