Fasting for Lent

This Lent I want to fast. Really, bread and water…I want to do a real fast. So, how exactly do I do it? Is there any ‘rules’ to abide by. Bread and water only? How much? etc.

With regards to a bread and water fast…you should really consult with a spiritual director, and listen to him.

I have heard of people doing that once a week, but to do it day after day could be injurious to your health and that would be a sin.

For some people not overeating, and skipping all desserts would be a fast.

A spiritual advisor would be best.
