Today I’m fasting for conversions of sinners.

Any who wish to join me are welcome, of course. Prayers, thoughts, comments and suggestions are encouraged.

This is timely…

On Wednesday evening, my friend asked a number of us to fast and pray on Thursday for a special intention – she wasn’t able to give further details.

So yesterday I was fasting, and on the way home from mass I heard about the plane crash. My friend informed me a short time later that her prayer intention had already been resolved – thanks, she was sure, to the prayers and fasting of her friends.

But perhaps, God had used her request to have a few of us on the battle lines on this day of such a hateful tragedy.

And it got me thinking: what if I asked a group of friends to join me in fasting and praying for the conversion of my ex-husband one day a month? What if a group of us chose to fast one day a month for the conversion of others in our lives? What miracles might we see?

God bless you for inviting us to join you! Don’t know if I can fast again today, but I will look for some non-food item to fast from.

Let us join together to win souls for Christ!

Praying with you. Although I do not always fast on Fridays (except during Lent of course); I do however still abstain from meat on all Fridays.

Lately it occurs to me that a group for those interested in fasting might be a good idea.

Who’s interested? You wouldn’t have to commit to any special schedule of fasting, but simply be interested and supportive. I happen to fast on Fridays, but others might fast on other days, or once a month, or what have you.

I’ll try to start something this weekend, and post threads and send a few PMs.
