Father doesn't stop cursing

Hit him with something each time he uses a foul word. Sometimes reasoning and begging just don’t work.

Perhaps you meant this as tongue in cheek, but unfortunately, he would probably hit me back. I accidentally stepped on his foot last week, and he did the same to “show me how it felt.”

I actually find that really alarming.

It’s one thing for a person to really think using profanity is not such a big deal (since it is unfortunately so common), and to be dismissive of another person’s concerns about it. Still selfish and rude, but not outside the realm of how normal humans treat each other.

But deliberately inflicting pain to teach “a lesson”? To one’s spouse?

That goes from “normal selfishness” to “abusive disregard,” IMO. Big red flag behavior.

I agree with Pensmama87 this is a big red flag for both you and your child. He is no man to intentionally hurt a woman, it is just plain wrong.

What is he going to do when the baby hits him with a toy and hurts him accidentally, hit him back with it to show the baby how it feels.

I would seek out counseling.
