I was watching a video of an interview with Fr. Fessio, who I respect, but he stated that he hoped that the two forms of the Mass will come together to form a new rite. I find that saddening and to be truthful, it scares me. I don’t want the 1962 missal to go away, and I don’t think traditionalists want it to go away either. That could cause some more schisms. Can someone please give reasons why the missal of 1962 should not go away and be changed.

The reason it should not go away as it is a great model of our focus on worship of God with reverence.

Now this doesn’t mean that we cannot reform the current liturgy to reflect that better, and it doesn’t really mean we have to. It just really stresses how much abuses have twisted our perception of the liturgy to whatever our background says it should be.

I am not in management so I just try to be as obedient as possible and try to promote it.

God Bless
