Is anyone here familiar with a Fr John Hardon, S.J.? I have a Catholic Catechism authored by him and am about to purchase a question and answer version also authored by him. I learned more from him when researching for a talk on the Eucharist and the Real Presence. I’d like to learn about him. Can anyone recommend some sources that tell about him and his life?

I had the privilege of meeting Servant of God Father Hardon on several occasions.

It was a very unique experience, especially when he heard my confession.

What was unique about it? Did he seem intuitive in the confessional? What was his personality like?

He was soft spoken, but not in a timid way. He also has an aura of peace about him that I don’t have the words to describe. You could tell that he was in love with God.

In the confessional it was as if he could discern my soul. He had a way of conveying God’s love and mercy to you if that makes sense.

He is frequently quoted (especially from his “Modern Catholic Dictionary”) in the online novenas organized by Fr. Richard Heilman that many Americans (as in, thousands) pray over the last couple years. That’s how I heard of him.

Cool. I’ve heard of confessors who can almost discern what you’re going to confess.
