Fathers of Mercy, just woundering

Hello, I am woundering if any here are ,first of all, intrasted in an order like the Fathers of Mercy? I feel called to Preach and I am in fact giveing the Fathers a visit Aug 3. Whitch leads me to my second question is anyone here doing the same thing?

I’ve heard them preach several times and I think they are great.

If you feel called to preach, don’t miss out learning about the Dominican Friars, who are literally an, “Order of Preachers.” (I recently posted about Dominican vocations here.)

I went on one of their vocation retreats. I met with the vocation director at the end of the retreat.

Something he said turned me off, but it is a personal thing I think.

I asked about the Liturgy and he replied that they are a Missions Band so that preaching comes before the Liturgy.

For myself, preaching comes from the Liturgy.

Other than that, I loved the visit and the guys seemed great. They are a bit isolated in South Union, Kentucky, and the Novitiate year is very strict.
 
I would have to agree, Preaching is part of the Liturgy. I just got back and I am still decerning if I am called to their order. I enjoyed it and Loved the guys, but as you said it is sucluded and its pritty far for me among other things.
 
Heh - I live not far from there, and I don’t think it’s too secluded;)
But then I have never been fond of city living.
