I have an interesting question about Overlapping Devotions.
At Fatima, as may of you may know, the Virgin Mary prescribed the wearing of the Brown Scapular and the Daily Praying of 5 decades of the Rosary.
Now, one of the traditional practices for gaining all the graces and priveledges of the Brown Scapular is to pray 5 decades of the Rosary daily with a Priest’s permission instead of the Liturgy of the Hours or the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary which most people don’t do. Most people have it replaced with permission from a Priest with 5 decades of the Rosary traditionally.
Now, my question is: Considering that the Brown Scapular and 5 decades of the Rosary were both mentioned together at Fatima…do you think that the 5 decades prescribed by Mary are the same as the ones you usually pray as part of the Brown Scapular Devotion? Or are they In Addition To the 5 decades prayed with the Scapular traditionally?
