Favorite bands that almost made it

I was wondering what are some of the bands that you really liked that had one hit and you thought that they would go further in the industry but never did. In spite of that you still liked them enough so to call them one of your favorite bands.

Here is why I ask, I love the band Marvelous 3, I have seen them in concert several time (mind you this was about 5-6 years ago) and absolutely love their music. They were very nice guys as well and very entertaining. They have since broke up and the lead singer still does some solo work that I listen to. They had one hit on the radio for a while “Freak of the Week” and it seemed like they were destined to do good, but never got over the hump. Still I consider them one of my favorite bands of all time.

though they weren’t entirely a one-hit wonder, I loved the Christian bands Burlap to Cashmere and Three Crosses, both of which only had a few hits (Burlap has a new album coming out finally though - they had one out in 98, but they’re about to record a new one… Three Crosses had a couple of albums but they never made it big before they disbanded)
