Hi Everyone I’m looking for everyones favorite devotion. If it’s one that many people don’t know about, Can you please post were it came from and if you know where I can find info about it that would be awesome.

My husband is doing a very large project, So I thought I’d ask you all. Who better to ask right

Thank you everyone!

I posted this in another section too. in the new projects section

The Church is so rich, that it would difficult for me to pick only one as a favorite devotion. If I had to, it would be the Holy Mass and Eucharistic Adoration. The Liturgy of the Hours, is the official prayer of the Church for those of us who are ordained. After this, I would pick Rosary and Divine Mercy. I could go on and on, but you get the point as to the richness of the Church and all it has to offer. We are indeed fortunate to be members of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church instituted by non other then Jesus Christ, the Son of God and Second Person of the Blessed Trinity.

I think I have to follow Deacon Ed: publicly Eucharistic Adoration, privately the Breviary. 😃

What’s PIOG?

Mass and the Liturgy of the Hours is not really a devotion, it IS the liturgy of the Church. A ecclesial devotion is more of a private thing (even if it is done in a group). It is not something that is required, such as Mass or the LOTH for clergy or religious. Even though as a lay person I pray it every day, I do not consider it a devotion.

That said there are many wonderful devotions. I do a variety depending on where I am spiritually at a specific time. Lately the Litany of Humility is one that I pray daily along with the prayer to St. Lucy for my eyes.

The Divine Mercy,

Just wonderful, easy to remember and can do it driving to work in 40 minutes.
