Hello,

We are looking for something new for our parish. Does anyone have favorite events their parish does as far as spirituality and evangelization?

We’ve done things like the Fr. Barron series “Catholicism” and Eucharistic Adoration events, so to speak. We’ve done a retreat and a parish mission. During Lent, we did Living Stations and a few other things. Any ideas of what really works or is liked in your parish?

The Holy Spirit will enlighten us but maybe you all could help us along…😉

Thanks!

We just did “Mary’s Way of the Cross”. It’s a Lenten event really but extremely successful. Good luck!🙂

We do a “parish family fun day” 3 times a summer. It’s just a picnic geared towards 20-30 something’s. It’s a good place to bring the kids and have a beer, a hotdog and play volleyball. We just started last summer and its grown every time. We invite our friends who don’t attend church as well.

We have had a Lenten mission over the past two years preached by the Fathers of Mercy. Also we have a substantial ACTS ministry at our parish. Both huge tools for keeping our faith fresh and new at our parish.

We have a meatless meal on Fridays of Lent, sponsored by different groups in the parish, followed by a talk (this year was about different Marian apparitions), then Stations of the Cross. A designation is made to a local charity chosen by the sponsoring group, since parisoners make donations for their meals.

Our church has a neat retreat program called, Christ Renews His Parish. It’s a great way to meet other people, develop friendships, and eventually branch into other ministries.
