One of my favorite movie quotes is from a ridiculous movie I never really watched, called…I even forget what it’s called. …“Tremors.”

The few minutes that I watched had a great line, “I always plan ahead. That way I don’t have to do anything today.”
 
My favorite opening line from a book was from Max Schulman’s comic novel “Sleep 'Till Noon.”

It opened with the lines “BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Four shots ripped into my groin, and I was off and running on the greatest adventure of my life!”

It had absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the novel, but Schulman thought it was a great attention-grabber.
