Hello everyone 🙂

I was wondering since the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is on this Friday, will we still have to abstain from meat that day?

I believe it’s a solemnity, so no, it’s not a day of penance, but you could do penance on Thursday to prepare for it. 👍

Regarding the thread title you are confusing fasting and abstaining.

We are only required to fast 2 days in the year - Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.

Well for some reason I can’t edit it now! Plus I did say “abstain” in my post. 🙂
