It depends where you are. The link provided by I_A_ is for the USA only. I know for sure that in Australia, the Immaculate Conception is not a holy day of obligation.Is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception on Friday a holy day of obligation this year? Thanks!

Since this Feast next falls on a Monday, doesn’t this mean that it ISN’T a HDoO?

In the USA, the only time that the Immaculate Conception loses its obligation is when December 8th falls on a Sunday causing the Solemnity to be observed on Monday December 9th. When the Solemnity is observed on December 9th it is not a Holy Day of Obligation. Christmas is the only day in the USA that never loses its obligation, it’s going to be a busy Christmas this year for our priests!
