Howdy gang!
I’ve been slowly (more slowly than I care to admit) sinking my teeth back into the faith after a long period of having lapsed, after having, on the spur of the moment, decided to go back to mass this morning.
Even before that, though, I’d started doing a regular bible study online, and, like everything else on the internet, the readability is excellent but my retention is poor - I guess I’m just one of those people whose old enough to need it all “in black and white” to have any hope of learning anything. I’ve decided, since the bible I have is of a non-Catholic translation, to hunt down a physical study bible.
To that end, then, I was just curious as to what everyone else liked for features in their bible, or could even recommend a few. I’m talking about favourite translations, features like broad margins or double vs single column typesetting, all those sorts of things.
Portability is not especially an issue, since a study bible would mostly live at my desk and I’d rather it be big enough to highlight and annotate than have it fit comfortably into a pocket.
