Dear Brothers and Sisters,
It is the work of a lifetime “to empty ourselves of the spirit of the world” but it is, as St. Louis wrote in his treatise on “True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary” – “of the utmost importance” (paragraph 78). Why? because as The Word of God tells us in 1 John 2:15:
Baptism freed us to come out of the sin of Adam and Eve and live a new life in Christ. Yet we must do battle to remain in Him. Let us pray to the Holy Spirit for one another and for all those in need of God’s Mercy to make good choices today, by His Grace. Mary Immaculate pray for us.

God created the world and saw it was good, but when sin entered the world through the prideful disobedience of our first parents, and we inherited the result of that Original Sin, we continue to battle against the consequences of that first sin. St. Augustine saw it as two cities: Those who love God to the contempt of self are building the City of God in this world, but those who love the world to the contempt of God are building the city of man. We need to recognize the difference between good and evil.
