…with my hormones and my crazy sex drive. Gosh. I just want it to go away. I lift weights, in school, and stay active and pray a lot but to no avail as porn has just unleashed on me. I’m so tired of doing all the right things and not getting a reward from God from it.Its a form of cruel torture i would not wish on anyone. period. there is just no escape.
i’m 24. I want a relationship so bad but God doesn’t seem to care. I feel like a chained pitbull that hasn’t been fed for 5 days . I met a lot of quality young ladies but none seem like GF material. … I feel like God has just left me to die a lonely life in the wilderness to get eaten by wolves while all my friends enjoy their girlfriends, etc.
WHY DID GOD DO THIS TO ME? WHY
A girlfriend to enjoy is not a reward from God. A sexual relationship is only proper within marriage. Even then, a husband and wife are to enjoy the blessing of marital love together. Sexual relations may be used to express love. But care must be taken by spouses, especially by ones with a high sex drive, to not use their spouse in their pursuit of sexual pleasure. Does that make sense?
All are called to live a chaste life, married or not. Conjugal chastity is the particular form of chastity for those who are married. It would be good for you to learn more about conjugal chastity, I think. There are many good resources for those who desire to grow in chastity and master their urges. I bet some other CAF members can offer those. But the porn has got to go. Porn and masturbation are serious sins, and are often mortal sins. It also skews how men view women, and damages relationships.
With ANY vice, there is a time of self-imposed suffering, when we realize we are struggling with a vice (in your case, lust) and it rather disgusts us, but we are not yet ready to give up the sin (sexual sins) or root out the vice (lust). Then comes a time when we are ready to give it up, but the process seems so hard that we are tempted to despair and give up. But we keep trying and we keep working on our relationship with God, and finally we start to see that the vice subsides or even is rooted out. But we must always be on guard against its return. This process can take a while, but God really can give you the ability to conquer vice.
Regarding the actual sins that you commit while battling these temptations and rooting out this vice, you need sacramental confession. My general advice for battling vice is to confess regularly, to do a morning offering each day along with a daily consecration to Mary, and an evening examination of conscience before bed. A daily Rosary is excellent too. If you fall into sin (especially serious sin) make an Act of Contrition immediately, and get to confession as soon thereafter as you are able, and do not receive Holy Communion until after sacramental confession, and you have been returned to a state of grace.
God bless you and good luck!
P.S. One last thing that I encourage is for you to wear the Brown Scapular at all times. If you have not already been invested, you can purchase cheaply a scapular and a little book that has the rite of investing in it that you can take to your priest. He can perform the rite and place your scapular on your shoulders. After that, you can wear it daily and if you ever need to buy a new scapular, you do not need to do the rite again. Just put your new scapular on. I don’t fully understand how the Scapular is so effective, but it appears that so much grace is associated with this simple devotion.
