Feeling Abandoned not by God but by the Bishops and Priests

Many Dioceses are doing whatever they can to reach and be with their people while advocatiing to gov’s to open the churches.
in my Diocese, there is a chilling willingness to go along.
In the US, no government has closed Churches. What they have done is advised Churches not to have gatherings, and our Bishops out of concern for the safety of everyone, have complied.

Not every parish is doing lot or anything but if your parish is lacking, how can you help?Someone from my parish recently lamented to me that she wishes this and that were happening at our parish. I said well, they need people to manage the services you are desiring. Did this person volunteer or offer a solution? No.

These priests are doing a lot even if it is not broadcast. There is ministering to the sick, of which there are plenty at the moment, running outreach services for those facing economic difficulties right now, trying to balance diminished finances to keep the parish running, and believe it or not they also need to attend to their own well being.

My parish is going above and beyond with daily live streamed Mass, a Holy Week devotional booklet, complete with illustrations, created on the fly, music ministry, and videos to guide novenas, tutorials on using Zoom, online activities and even author talks, yet some still want more. Unless someone who is able bodied is willing to step up and offer their time, treasure, talent, I don’t see the value in complaining.

I get that an individual parish may not be doing what you feel but grace needs to be remembered and also strength to get through what is temporary. Again, many Catholics are “abandoned” in normal times and rarely complain.

I suggest everyone pray more to get through. At the end of the day that is what matters most.
