How (if ever) have other’s felt God’s comfort.
Lately, whenever someone hurts me or rubs me the wrong way, no matter how angry I am at that person, I pray to God to help me forgive. However, sometimes, it feels like I am moving into the solution, without going through the process. IOW, it feels like my forgiveness is just an act with no sincerity and I still feel hurt.
I think back to being a kid and how when I use to cry (for whatever reason), the comfort my mom would show me. And I long for that comfort. Not that I expect my mom to comfort me like she use to, but I do wish I could have a good cry. I am sometimes scared I will get in an unending loop if I cry.
And as an adult, very few people would have it in them to be around me crying.
So all that to say, what practical steps can I take to feel God’s comfort? Or do I just need to accept I may not feel it until the next life?
