I have a cloud of depression hanging over me today. Please pray for me.

I am too going through depression. Been suffering from it since I was fourteen off and on. I’m now 28. Makes it difficult to study or work. Offer up your suffering to God. I will pray for your healing.

I think we all have been depressed at one time or another. There is no shame in that. I will pray for everyone when I pray on my way to work.

MCH, I’ll pray for you,and all those who suffer from depression. :gopray:

You have given us grace at this time to offer You a common prayer together - though over a telephone wire 👍 - and have promised that when two or three are gathered together in Your name, that You will grant their requests; fulfill, Lord, the prayers of Your servants, heal the depression which strikes so many of your children, make this time profitable for their welfare, grant the knowledge of Your truth in this world and life everlasting in the world to come. Amen.

In addition to our prayers for all those with special intentions on the CA website, please focus on the encouraging words of our Holy Father, in his recent book, Jesus of Nazareth.

Jesus is:
the new Moses (speaks for God, lawgiver)
the promised prophet greater than Moses
the Son of the Father
The true Exodus (His cross)
the true Torah
the definitive David
the son of Adam
the son of Man
the true Jonah
the Anointed One
the new Jacob (Patriarch of Universal Israel)
God’s presence
the true Israelite
the Teacher
the Redeemer
the King of Peace
the True Solomon (bringer of Peace)
Jesus is the Sabbath
Jesus is the Temple
Jesus and his Disciples are the new Israel

From Scripture
The Great Commandment.
Deut 6:4 "Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD alone!

and

Deut 6:13 The LORD, your God [alone], shall you fear; him shall you serve

When we are depressed, we need help, and then, first of all, the help of God. Let us also count our blessings.

I am praying for you, don’t know what you need exactly but I will pray you have peace in your heart. Wait for God to move and have faith.

Praying for your peace of mind and troubled heart. Turn off the radio, tv, computer, listen to some good Catholic church music, close your eyes, contemplate and pray the rosary, try to do one good deed for someone else - hopefully this will lift up your spirits. God Bless.

Thank you all for your prayers.I first suffered from depression a few years ago after a particularly stressful time.I promised myself I would never be scathing of anyone who was depressed, after experiencing it myself.

I pray that the Lord will lift you out of your depression, and that the days that will come will be filled with His joy and blessing.

May your spirits lift! We all can have down days or depression due to some life factor that does pass. If depression is lasting medical treatment will help. Depression needing treatment is very common and no shame in it since it is a very common illness in today’s modern stressful living. I’ll keep you in daily prayer that The Lord lift this cloud from your life…Blelssings and Peace - Barb

Prayer against Depression - by Saint Ignatius of Loyola
O Christ Jesus,
when all is darkness
and we feel our weakness and helplessness,
give us the sense of Your presence,
Your love, and Your strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
in Your protecting love
and strengthening power,
so that nothing may frighten or worry us,
for, living close to You,
we shall see Your hand,
Your purpose, Your will through all things.
