I often feel different sensations while praying, but I have no idea what to label them. Sometimes my heart palpitates, sometimes I feel intense tingling in different places. And last night while praying, I felt waves of a sensation in my heart that completely moved me, if I could label it I would say it felt like God’s love touching my heart. Am I the only one that gets these sensations?

I would speak to your priest about this just to be sure. I have been moved to tears with strong emotion, ( overwhelmed by love I think ) but no tingling or palpitations. Speak to your priest. In the meantime, keep praying!

It’s extremely normal that some people get them a lot, some people get them not at all, some people get them sometimes and not other times.

The variation and variability is extremely normal.

There is no different value between the different kinds.

This is what I have been seeing and hearing from everyone around me for 60 years.

Hoping that helps. 🙂

No, you are not the only one. There is a spiritual journey in which various things can happen and how to respond.

If you desire, you can acquaint yourself with the MP3s of Father Venard Poslusney, O. Carm., who expounds in easy to understand terms on the Doctors of the Church on prayer, St. John of the Cross, St. Teresa of Avila, etc.

Many of his conferences can be found here:

Yes, speak to a priest. And a cardiologist.
