The catechism says Catholic tradition has an almost unsurpassed body of knowledge regarding the passions.

I would like to ask where a comprehensive introduction on the whole can be found ??

The most authoritative framework or handbook, preferably with a list ??

Thank you.

St.Thomas Summa devled into the passions.

Fr.Rippergers book on the Science of mental health.

I remember reading about the passions in a few Saints works but I forget.

The Catholic Encyclopedia has some about it I’m sure.

Many Catechisms of the past include the passions I’m sure.

Apart Fr.Rippergers book which I handn’t heard about I’ve tried reading through most the others.

(Just recently a seminarian told me he was about to finish University not having read through Aquinas because it’s too voluminous and contrived given the other demands he faces.)

Those are extensive bodies of work that are confusing to read and frequently can’t be resorted to in case of an emergency because the info is either dispersed, has overlaps with other subjects, or isn’t to the point.

Thanks @LittleFlower378 I appreciate your thoughts - trouble is I went along the same lines and there has to be a more efficient way to tackle this by way of first approximation.
