Aww, thank you, ladies. This is Day 5 of my Novena for her. It is such a joy to do!
God has been using this time and prayer to do major work on my soul, too. I will be going to confession in the next week after over a year of doing my own thing and causing spiritual trouble. I’m sure your prayers were very helpful in the spiritual awakening I am experiencing.
UPDATE: The colposcopy went great. The doc did take a biopsy but told her all the tissue looked great and it should come back negative. Praise God.
Next as far as cancer goes, is her inner ear surgery perhaps next month where some squamous cell cancer is growing right up against her ear drum- not a tumor but just some undifferentiated cells so it isn’t life threatening.

A follow up.
Well, the possible cervical cancer biopsy only showed pre-cancerous cells so they will test again in 6 months.
She might have inner ear surgery for her squamous cell cancer May 9. I will start a novena for her around then for that. I’m trying to get time off work so I can drive to California to be with her for that.
On the anorexia front: Though she assures me she is alright, I’m concerned because she is still losing weight- about 20 pounds since July. I was alarmed to find out that she is still exercising an hour a day. She has agreed to consider seeing an eating disorder specialist, which would do her a world of good. I’m hoping she follows through on this.
Relationally, it has been a bit rocky. She sort of broke things off when I mentioned I thought we were soul mates. That was her fear of intimacy. We’ve recently patched things up but I feel anxious wondering what other innocently made comment will trigger her rejection button.
Please continue to pray. I will keep you updated.

Now for her second cancer issue.
Dear prayer friends,
This one is much worse. Her second cancer issue has recently been discovered to have grown into a golf ball sized tumor in her middle ear. It is very treatable as long as it hasnt invaded her dura, the lining of the brain. If it has it is basically fatal. They will not know until they operate
I am starting another novena tonight. She may have surgery this coming up Tuesday. I am driving over to visit her tomorrow.
If the dura is intact she will begin radiation on June 17th for 6 weeks. I will keep you posted. Dear God, may her dura be intact…

Hi Tim,
I just had to post again after I read this…
I had this type of tumor and endured 7 surgeries between the ages of 5 and 12. I had what is called a “Radical Mastoidectomy” on my right ear. They removed the entire inner ear, bones, and part of my mastoid bone.
My parents were told that I would never live through it because it was into the dura matter. Well, I’m 44 years old, and I’m still kicking. I have a few battle scars, I have no hearing in my right ear, but I’m here and I’m well.
This type of tumor is very uncommon in children. I was actually the youngest patient that ever underwent the surgery.

The surgery to remove the tumor and determine if it has invaded her brain lining is tomorrow morning. I started another novena for her yesterday.
Your prayers are coveted, as always.
On the relationship front: She surprised me by getting rid of her ex boyfriend cuz he was being abusive, an indication of emotional maturity on her part.
I have hopes for our romance to begin again after things settle down.

THANK GOD!!! I’m happy to report the tumor didn’t invade her dura lining. The most I can get out of her (she’s exhausted and at home) is her hearing loss is 10% higher than the 30% she was at before surgery.
So, next is about 16 weeks of radiation therapy.
