Hi everyone,

Please pray for me that I may find some catholic fellowship & friendship somewhere. I have tried numerous parishes to no avail & yet I have most welcoming friendships from other non-Catholic Christians who repeatedly invite me into their communities & events. Alas, I don’t really belong, although I am grateful for Christian fellowship in general.

I have found Catholic fellowship outside of my parish at another Catholic parish’s ministry open to all. Sadly I found my own parish ministries cliquish, they are established and the established are not really welcoming to new comers. You are right, the Lutheran church I was in was extremely welcoming, mentoring, nurturing, encouraging everyone in participating in ministry…how else will the faith pass on forward? It is why I still participate in that Lutheran ministry because it includes other Catholics, Baptists, etc.

I believe Catholic priest’s should really end the status quo of the clique groups that ‘run’ Catholic parishes. There should be a standard model of rotating leadership so others are trained and participation is open to all.

What serivce groups at parishes have you joined? That’s how most people make friends. In action with other Catholics…like St. Vincent dePaul, the Rosary group, Choir, etc.
God bless you. You have friends here too. 😉

TALK to your parish DRE {Director of religious Education} to see if they can be of assistance:) & PRAY MUCH!

Thank you all for your replies, they are greatly appreciated. I have tried joining in ministries/helping out, but I have been rebuffed nearly every time, by various means. Oh, life is full of challenges, and of course what we need is ‘another challenge’…
If Christ came for all, then ‘all’ should be able to find a place to call home in His catholic church. From all walks of life: after they have become catholic of course.

I had a girl, about my age, who was a non-Catholic Christian, who didn’t know me very well, who travelled from one side of the city to the other to introduce me to her church & to the people there, who of course were all very welcoming. She came to my house & prayed with me: really wonderful stuff.

I suppose there must be a reason behind all this.

Happy Easter everyone. Hope you all have a blessed day. 👍
