Gosh, this generation is dying out fast isn’t it. I just turn pale when I see stuff like this. Lots of nuts in this world :whacky: and not enough nutcrackers to crack them. If there actually was a bishop who preformed the travesty of making her a (pretend) bishop, he needs a short, sharp chat with the Pope about why he should retire NOW!

Oh, I missed these talks! I live in the greater Seattle area. 😃 I see that the Baptists, Episcopalians, and Lutherans all hosted her Eminence, how thoughtful of them.

IF YOU GO
Appearances by Patricia Fresen

• Fresen gives a talk at 2 p.m. today, Seattle First Baptist Church, 1111 Harvard Ave.; and again at 7 p.m. Monday at St. John Episcopal Church, 114 20th Ave. S.E., Olympia. Both talks are open to the public. A free-will donation is suggested.

• Fresen presides over a liturgy at 2 p.m. Sunday at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 911 Stewart St., Seattle.

As you alluded, look at how old this lady is. I’ve never seen a spry, young Catholic girl running around thinking she is a Catholic priest. It is encouraging in a way. History and demography just ain’t on their side.

Love this part " She’s one of about 40 members who **consider **themselves priests or deacons and one of four who consider themselves bishops"

So if i consider myself something than I am? Sweet… you must now always refer to me as Madam President of the State of Texas…wait a second… tommorrow i think I want to be Doctor…How long before one of them consider themself a cardinal?? I can just see them now trying to have a “right to vote” for the next Pope!!!

Pax tecum!

Sweet! I didn’t get that job with the Public Safety Office at my university, but I still want to be a police officer. I’ll be one starting tomorrow. Wow, that was easy! And here I thought I was going to have to wait and apply again! This is great! 👍

In Christ,

Dibs on Grand High and Illustrious Potentate of the World. You had all better practice your bowing and scraping.

And she used to be a Dominican! :crying:

Whoever “ordained” her has already separated himself (or herself?) from the Catholic Church.

The Church does not have the authority to ordain women.

It is mind-boggling when Catholics argue that we should be more like mainline Protestant denominations. Just look at the plummeting attendance in those churches and it is evident that this is really asking us to join the suicide pact.

I have long considered myself, and hold the DNRC title, Chief Justice of the Double-Secret Probate Court. 😛

If this women thinks that Pope Benedict the sixteenth is going to allow women to be priests then she is even more of a fruitcake then I thought.

Viva il Papa!

Foolish woman-it’s always about ‘me, me, me’!

Lady-would you like some fries with that?

Come to think of it Scott, she probably considers herself a real goddess too. Which is typical of new agers. Delusional thinking can play some mind tricks on you can’t it? I really doubt if the bishop who ordained her is in good standing w/ the Church. She probably made it up. Like Jesus says, “Don’t be like the hypocrites who love the salutation ‘Hail Rabbi’, and except the best seats in the synagogues, and take places of honor at banquets.” Betcha Jesus had Call to Action and Catholics for a ‘free choice’ in mind when he condemning the vices of the pharisees and the scribes. 😃

Madame President, what do you mean vote for the next Pope?? I am betting one of them will declare herself to BE the next Pope.

Oh, and since considering oneself to be something is now apparently the same as being that thing-- I hereby declare that I now consider myself to be this week’s 30 million dollar Florida lotto winner, so Florida Lottery agency---- PAY UP!

A quite from the article:
"She’s one of about 40 members who consider themselves priests or deacons and one of four who consider themselves bishops."

Nothing to worry about here. She considers herself to be a priest and a Bishop. No-one else does.

This is the very reason that I encourage orders of nuns who have abandoned their habits to dwindle fast. Its why I rejoice that they are getting no vocations. They abandoned their habit so they abandoned their consecration. in abandoning their consecration they abandoned their Lord and so they are rudderless.

No means no. What part of that equation don’t these “womenpriests” get. The Pope doesn’t have the authority to make women priests and theologically and sacramentally it’s impossible. Why do they persist in remaining Catholic - why not become an Episcopalian where woman and active gays can be bishops? Why do they continue to stay in the Church and fight the truth? Pray for them.

You’d think that being a nun for so long she would know that the church cannot change these kinds of doctrine. I have only been a Catholic for 2.5 years and even I know that!

Notice the careful avoidance on these women’s part of the word “priestess,” and all that it connotes.

Words mean things, and words shape thoughts, as these women understand full well. Therefore, I resolve to do my bit to not permit the priestesses to take over the vocabulary of this discussion. Pursuant to which, I absolutely refuse to call them “womanpriest” and “womanbishop.” However ham-handed, laughable, clumsy and ridiculous these appellations may be, they still serve to obscure the fact that wherever the women’s ordination movement movement is, paganism isn’t far behind.
