Hello, I was on DeviantArt recently and I came across an account called artgerm. I really liked his art. His style the colorfulness of his art. I think it’s very detailed. A lot of his art is actually featured in games or comics. The thing is a lot of his art features female characters with revealing outfits. I guess what I’m asking is if it’s ok to look at those. I don’t obsess over it but I do find many of his female characters attractive. That being said it’s not entirely the reason I like his drawings. like I said above I appreciate it as art it the style and detail in his characters along with the scenes or backgrounds he puts them in.

Why is it even called deviant? Makes no sense. There’s nothing wrong with drawing women well but revealing outfits crosses the line. Personal preference does not matter. I would not draw women in revealing outfits because I respect women.

generally, men are not depicted in all their ‘glory’ but women are. So why I wonder.

My brother Pete always said the human body is beautiful so I guess maybe he was right-generally. LOL!

I find this sort of art tends to veer into fetish lane…

I’d say avoid art that depicts people and animals like that, lol.

I totally agree, I just went on that website for a few moments and started feeling uncomfortable after seeing a lot of cartoon fetish pics, esp ones with feet. 😷

Unfortunately, I don’t find this site very valuable from an assistant art director perspective. I’m glad beginning illustrators have a place to showcase their work, along with some professionals, but there is a lot more chaff - and fetish - as opposed to really good stuff.
