Give me a good “spite fence” any 'ol day…love 'em!😃
I do too actually! I like the feeling of it being my own little secluded garden, totally private in the middle of the big city. 😃

Does anyone have PVC fencing? I’m wondering if it’s worth the expense. I really would love to do that and then paint the existing fence on the other side of the driveway white, but I just don’t know if it’s worth the cost.

Fence is personal taste and you don’t need ME for that.

Just be sure to double check if your municipality has restrictions and/or permit requirements and see if you have a Homeowners Association that has covenants against certain kind of fencing.

In my neighborhood, if I want a fence it must be
  1. wood.
  2. 4 feet high maximum.
  3. Shadowbox style
  4. Have a top rail covering the end grain of the vertical boards.
  5. 1x6 vertical slats
  6. 8 foot post spacing
  7. 2 rails at specific dimensions from the ground.
Yes, somebody had WAY too much time on his hands writing that one.

Four foot high maximum???

Why bother? That wouldn’t keep a dog in (unless it’s little) or protect kids from a pool.

But then maybe mid sized to large dogs and pools aren’t allowed?

actually 4 ft is a common restrition around here. anythign higher is considered a spite fence. well duh, if i wanted to see my neighbors i wouldn’t be putting up a fence!

Not here - we live in an older neighborhood of mostly 1950’s bungalows just outside Detroit. No on here but the city to tell me what to do, and I like it like that! 😉

I do have some restrictions because I want to put it inside the chain link, but that’s about it! 👍
