I am half afraid of Confession and think its scary.I hate sin and go out of my way to avoid it. I prefer general Absolution, because it still clenses you of sin.
I hope you’re not relying on general absolution for forgiveness of mortal sins. General absolution is only to be used in rare, emergency-type situations. And if you survive the emergency, you are obligated to confess your mortal sins individually in normal confession as soon as you can.

Different problem here. Twice in the recent past we have been in a line for confession that was stopped before we’d had a turn. Most recently, there was only one priest hearing confessions and for some reason he was a bit late in startng. Since he was also the priest saying Mass, he had to end confessions on time. The previous incident was more our fault for not arriving sooner to get in the line (although there were people behind us). I plan to ask our Pastor if we can have more scheduled confession times!

General Absolution is an extraordinary means and only absolves you of Mortal sin if you die before being able to have an opportunity to go to regular individual Confession. Otherwise you are required to go to individual Confession ASAP anyway!
