And I also think that jealous is not the word, but maybe she feels insecure. Maybe she feels insecure of herself, and she needs to value herself more. I mean she is a beautiful daughter of God, He made her, she is a masterpiece, God’s work of art, a princess for God is the King. And believe that he is a new man now, people change. Just like Jesus forgives our sins and loves us, we should forgive our fiance’s past and be there for them and bringing them closer to God, and be supportive, encouraging them to keep doing good for the love of God.
Beautiful post E_7! Worded so well!

This. This was me reading that part:

I would ask him to get rid of everything related to his previous relationships. Yes, his past is his own, but keeping mementos of ex lovers is not respectful towards his future wife.
Amen the past is the past. Theirs no reason that he must keep any emails nor any pics of his x girlfriends. That is disrespectful towards you. If he has a hard time and argues then, he might not be committed to you

. Unfortunately I’ve run across many photos and e-mails of his exes and this has been haunting me ever since. I apologized and he forgave me.
If you ‘ran across many photos’, what do you need to apologize for??? Sounds to me like he kept them in a public place and I agree that is not the behaviour of a mentally faithful fiancée. I would have a long talk and if he is not willing to consider your feelings, then don’t marry him

However, if you apologized because you went snooping through every single last computer folder and box at the back of the closet and you saw his ex in a ‘life milestone’ picture (like his prom date), then he has done nothing wrong.

However, my bigger concern is your fear of not being ‘good enough in bed’. Please… I though for Catholics the whole joy in being married was to truly share all of yourself with your spouse. Not some kind of performance review

This is one of those issues that should be settled between the couples. If one is engaged, and the future spouse doesn’t want these emails/photos around, it would be proper for the party to get rid of them. In my own case, I got rid of these items after I got engaged; I just felt it was appropriate to do so.
