Fighting

Is it a sin to fight someone? What I mean is, if you are just walking to your class at school and someone comes and shoves you, should you fight back or should you just stand there? So is it bad if you are fighting back at them when you didn’t start it or is it only bad if you start it?

It is not a sin to defend yourself or another.

Violence is never the answer, but there is nothing wrong with defending yourself if you feel you are, or actually are in danger.

If you could find a non-violent solution, it would be great and it’s probably better not to attack, even if the insults or taunts are getting bad, but only defend yourself or another.

If you can manage to restrain the attacker without hitting him much, I guess it would be more civilised. At any rate, you have the right to defend yourself if attacked.

If only used to defend yourself or another, then no, I do not believe it is a sin.
