Filioque?

I am curious about the Church’s official position on the Filioque in the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed. I am quite familiar with its history and the controversy it has caused in the past. What I am curious about is what is the Church’s current official teaching about it. I have noticed that many Eastern Rite Catholic Churches, such as the Melkites do not include the filioque in the creed during Divine Liturgy. Has there been a change in church teaching or a deemphasis on the topic? Also how can there be a fundamental difference in understanding the Holy Trinity in the same Church? Or are they reconcilable that the benefits of church unity outweigh the theological differences?

If you can help clear any of that up, it would be of great help.

There has been no change in the Catholic Church’s teaching regarding this. All Churches in union with Rome are obliged to hold to the same teaching.
