Easter Staples… the exact word I heard listening in on Catholic radio yesterday… and I’m going to stand back from listing ones I consider that in the opening of the thread… I will leave it to everyone else… I will sort of compare what the film aficionado said, compared to what people say here. The guest on air had a real surprise that I did not previously know about.

Except, I’m not sure if EWTN will do it this year, I know in the past, they’d show a sort of serial, series leading to the crucifixion and resurrection based on the Gospels during Holy Week. It looked like it was filmed in Italy, maybe Spain. I certainly enjoyed it.

Should the conversation not pick up, I will list some.

A few TV shows have probably had Easter specials as they have their Christmas episode. So, all is welcome that is on theme.

‘Quo Vadis’’ and, it is Easter themed though, it is actually more about the early Christians and has Nero in it, I count it,

‘Quo Vadis’ and get this, I hope to eventually watch it, a new version has been made. It is a Polish version but I saw it is at youtube. It was made in the 2000s, so still, pretty new. English subtitles.

As for ‘The Robe’, I had heard about it, I liked what I saw but I had never seen it in full, and voila, once I was able to finally see it. I really liked it. I thought ‘The Robe’ was about as good as any religious movie I had ever seen.

Again, they usually show ‘The Ten Commandments’ during this time of the year. …so even if it is OT, it seems to fit the season.

We had a store when video rental was still popular. This particular store made sure, they had a lot of the religious classics and new movies too. The store was even near a church.
